Iran native to speak about election of moderate president

The Nuclear Neighborhoods series continues with a presentation on the controversial Iranian nuclear program at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Iowa City Public Library.
Yashar Vasef, executive director of the Iowa United Nations Association and an Iranian by birth, will share his impressions on the diplomatic affairs between the United States and the Iranian regime in light of the recent election of Iranian moderate Hassan Rouhani.
As part of the Nuclear Neighborhoods series, Vasef will also review the geopoltiics of the Iranian nuclear program within the context of regional volatility.
