Letter: Offer more choices for school lunch

We should have more choices for school lunches. I think more people would eat and then we would do better in school. It has been scientifically proven that people who have a good breakfast and lunch do better in school. This is important because your grades can impact your future so if you don't do well because you didn't eat enough you may not get as good of a job.
Another reason is eating a good meal for lunch and breakfast will improve your mood. If no one ate anything for one day everyone would be really grumpy, hungry, and just mean. So if we improve the lunches this could improve the behavior of students.
Right now our food is one main course, an alternate course which is usually a type of meat sandwich, a sun butter sandwich that almost no one has ever taken, and a fruit parfait all of which are processed or canned. We also have one fruit and one vegetable for sides and skim, chocolate, and 1 percent milk. Overall our meals are very small.
What our improved meals would be would be one main course that has been cooked that day with fresh ingredients, a sandwich and salad bar, and a fresh fruit and vegetable from a school garden.
