The college football offseason is half-over
Mike Hlas May. 6, 2010 10:59 pm
Where does the time go?
Alabama beat Texas on Jan. 7 to end the 2009 college football season. The 2010 season starts Thursday night, Sept. 2.
That means we just passed the halfway point of the offseason.
The second half of the offseason will be warmer. It will have more preseason college football magazines. It will have the end of the NBA season, the World Cup, three more major golf tournaments, and over a month of NFL training camps.
Then we get to Thursday night, Sept. 2, and ...
Northern Illinois at Iowa State
Marshall at Ohio State
Towson at Indiana
Minnesota at Middle Tennessee State
USC at Hawaii
Pittsburgh at Utah
And my favorite, Presbyterian at Wake Forest.
The next night gives us Arizona at Toledo.
Then comes Saturday the 4th, and ...
Eastern Illinois at Iowa
Connecticut at Michigan
Illinois vs. Missouri in St. Louis
Western Kentucky at Nebraska
Youngstown State at Penn State
Purdue at Notre Dame
Texas at Rice
Oregon State vs. TCU in Dallas
LSU vs. North Carolina in Atlanta
Wisconsin at UNLV
Things start slowly. Not to worry. It's a long season.
It's a longer offseason. But it's half over.
