Special election results won’t apply to Iowa

Recent special elections in Alabama and Pennsylvania resulted in the Democratic candidate winning the election in a historically ‘red' district or state. This has led political analysts in the national news media (and even some members of the Republican National Committee) to predict that this trend will continue and sweep across the country during November's midterm elections in many other predominantly 'red” congressional districts.
This will not be the case in Iowa this fall. In fact, it would not surprise me if congressmen Rod Blum, David Young and Steve King win re-election in their respective districts by the largest margins ever.
