Wasson will challenge downtown spending

By voting for the three candidates endorsed by The Gazette Editorial Board, you can help elect three more Chamber of Commerce members who are in favor of raising taxes with the local-option sales tax and are strong advocates of focusing city resources to the downtown area.
On Tuesday, I will be voting for my son, Justin Wasson, for the at-large council seat because he is in touch with the citizens of this city and realizes that the concerns of the people here extend beyond the downtown district.
As his father, I can assure you that Justin has always been fiscally responsible. With Justin on the city council, the deals where the city sells property at a deep discount (the library) and purchases property at multiples of its assessed value (True North property, fire station site, parking ramps) will not go unchallenged.
Way to go, Justin, you make me proud!
