Letter: Kris Gulick is the best choice for mayor

Kris Gulick is, without a doubt, the most qualified and prepared of all the candidates for mayor. His demonstrated efforts to improve our city and ensure its continued success over the last 12 years are unmatched.

He has knowledge of the many steps that have been taken to this point in time to recover from the disastrous flood of 2008 and state and federal contacts that will need to be worked with to ensure the city will be able to achieve a full recovery. Throughout his time in office he has continued to show a commitment to listen to the community members he represented before voting on issues that concerned them and made sure other council members were aware of their opinions. He possesses an excellent ability to collaborate with other council members, business agencies and organizations to achieve solutions to the myriad challenges that our city has faced and will continue to face in the future.

He is a leader and I have no doubt if he is selected as mayor of Cedar Rapids, the city will continue to grow even stronger and fiscally secure.
