Elect more leaders like Joel Miller

Shame on Auditor Joel Miller for wanting to do his job and protect Linn County taxpayers. Does it strike anyone else funny that Supervisor Brent Oleson (attorney) doesn't want the taxpayers to really know where their money is going? Also, a judge sides with another attorney (Oleson) and stops the auditor from auditing.
No, it is not that the auditor wants to know how many pens and pencils you have. It's the money that he thinks isn't accounted for.
So truly, Miller, you go boy! I give you applause for having the courage to do what we paid you to do. This is exactly what we need. More people in government offices asking why and where is our money going.
Next time the county supervisors are up for election, remember what Benjamin Franklin said, “Politicians are a lot like diapers. They should be changed frequently.” If you keep them, you are telling them you don't care and spend our money any way you want. New blood are what makes change and change for the good.
One thing I would like to know is, how much is being spent because the Linn County supervisors don't want (other departments) to be audited (by the auditor)? Moneys that taxpayers are paying. Think about that next time your taxes go up.
