Second Avenue works well, should stay as is

The Second and Third Avenue one-way streets have been very successful over the past years. One can hardly imagine anything else. Consider the street left as it is.
Place a safety lane on each side with a steel guard rail and 6 feet or so of sidewalk between the guard rail and the proposed buildings. Then put the third and fourth floor over the top of the street.
I am not an engineer, but I think this would help us keep what works so well.
