Worsfold, Charles R.
Charles R. Worsfold, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died while vacationing in Florida on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013. Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Emory Gillespie. Inurnment will be at a later date at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Saturday at the church. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, of 57 years; children, Thomas (Sharon) Worsfold and Laura Worsfold, both of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Amanda and Nathan Worsfold, Amber Hale and Matthew (Andrea), and Leslie Worsfold; three great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Elias and Basil; and a brother, Ronald Worsfold of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Worsfold; and a brother, William Worsfold.
Chuck was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Marshalltown, to William and Alice (Barker) Worsfold. He married Lorraine Lighter in Marshalltown on July 31, 1955. He taught industrial technology at Prairie High School, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Harmony Hawks, NEA, ISEA and CCEA. Chuck sang in the Follies for over 25 years and participated in community musical productions as well as University of Iowa sporting events.
Memorials may be directed to Westminster Presbyterian Church and Camp Wyoming.
