Simonds, Sybil E.
Sybil E. Simonds, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died of an extended illness on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at The Meth-Wick Community.
Sybil is survived by two sisters, Beatrice Cocking of Marion and Ruth Hayes of Cedar Rapids; one sister-in-law, Catherine Hayward; many nieces and nephews; and several longtime friends.
Sybil was born Sept. 16, 1917, in Hale Township, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Augusta Hayward. Sybil married William Arlo Simonds on Nov. 3, 1942, in Lakeland, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlo; her parents; three brothers, James, Ray and Marvin Hayward; and sister-in-law, Therese Margot Hayward.
Sybil was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. No services are planned.
