jakespizza wins Super Bowl Prop Bet contest!
Mike Hlas Feb. 7, 2010 8:54 pm
There are a lot of Jake's Pizza parlors in America.
But there's only one jakespizza who won the Hlog's first annual Super Bowl Prop Bet Contest.
jakespizza got 7 of 10 coin-flips correct, including the coin coming up heads and the Saints winning the flip.
Other answers:
A field goal longer than 42 yards? Yes. New Orleans' Garrett Hartley had three, in fact.
Total yardage exceed 789 yards? No. Close. There were 764 yards.
Will more than 3.5 Saints score? Yes, and barely. Tracy Porter's interception return for a TD with 3:12 left let him join Hartley, Pierre Thomas and Jeremy Shockey.
Would Drew Brees complete a pass for more than 38 yards? No. His longest completion was 27 yards. But he probably doesn't care right now.
Will Colts kicker Matt Stover score more than 8 points? No. He had a field goal and two extra points.
Will Dallas Clark have a reception of longer than 18.5 yards? Yes. He had a 27-yarder among his team-high seven catches.
Most rushing yardage, Brees or Peyton Manning? Manning. Brees took a knee on the final play of the game for minus-1 yard. Manning had no carries.
Higher total: Dwight Howard's free throw tries Sunday vs. Boston or the total points in the Super Bowl's first quarter? Howard. He had 12 foul shots. The football game had 10 points in the first period.
Only two of all the other entrants got more than half their picks correct.
Congrats to jakespizza. His or her prize? I don't know. Maybe a gift certificate for some ... pizza?
