Ace of Cakes star to judge contest in Des Moines

DES MOINES - Global Spectrum has announced an addition to the lineup of celebrities for the Iowa's Premier Wine & Food Expo on Nov. 13 and 14 at Hy-Vee Hall. Mary Alice, Duff Goldman's sidekick and general manager of Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, will be included on a panel of judges for the local Cake Contest.

 New to the Expo this year is the cake contest. The contest has had an overwhelming response as space is sold out for the contest. A panel of judges will critique and judge each cake on creativity, taste, and overall appearance to determine who will leave as the Preferred Cake of the Iowa Events Center.

The winning bakery will receive a prize package that includes being promoted as the Preferred Cake of the Iowa Events Center for one year. A "Best of Show" winner will be announced as well.

 Tickets for Iowa's Premier Wine & Food Expo are $20 for one day or $35 for a two-day pass.
