South Carolina Changing Defensive Scheme for Hawkeyes in Outback Bowl

South Carolina's base defense apparently doesn't match up well with Iowa's offense, so the Gamecocks are changing it up for the Outback Bowl.
USC defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson said the switch from a three-safety to a three-linebacker package might be a better fit against an Iowa offense that relies heavily on its ground game.
“And that'd probably be good for Iowa ‘cause they're so big and physical," Johnson said.
USC has already lost starting safety and leading tackler Emanuel Cook to academic ineligiblity.
