Extending LOST would burden next generation

I understand that the current 1 percent local-option sales tax is in effect through mid-2014. According to a flyer that was sent to Marion residents in the mail on Thursday, the road improvements proposed for years 1-5 (of the proposed 20-year LOST extension) would not start until 2015 when the current LOST expires. That means that the ugly intersection at 35th Street and Munier Road will not be improved until 2018, if then!
Do you realize that by voting yes on this LOST on May 3, we are forcing a tax on a whole generation of young people for 20 more years?
I cannot justify letting our local government politicians have free rein over this money for the next 20 years. Can you? Vote no.
