Kubesh, Iona
Iona Kubesh, age 88, of Calmar, died on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, with Rev. Donald Hawes presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Schluter–Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel in Calmar, and also after 10 a.m. at the church on Monday.
There will be a rosary at
4 p.m. and a scripture service at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Iona is survived by her children: Connie (Joe) Becker, Dike; John (Joni) Kubesh, Peosta; Don (Donna) Kubesh, New Hampton; Frank (Monica) Kubesh, Austin, Minn.; and Ken Kubesh, Decorah; one brother, Elias (Dorothy) Zweibahmer, Cresco; one sister, Catherine (Donald) Huinker, Ossian; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Kubesh, Calmar, and Evelyn Hruska, Verona, Wis.
