Kiecksee, Paula Marie
Paula Marie Kiecksee, 64, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Father Curt Moermond officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in the Garden of Eternal Love. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Paula was born June 15, 1949, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Walter and Pauline (Appleby) Sankey. She graduated from Marion High School in 1967. Paula met husband, Alan, in 1965 and they later married on Sept. 20, 1968, at Marion United Methodist Church. She worked at Rockwell Collins for many years, retiring in 2008.
Paula is survived by her husband, Alan; daughter, Jennifer; and son, Joseph (Tami), both of Marion; four grandchildren, Cameron, Christian, Fionna and Sophie; her sisters Pam of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mary of Cedar Rapids; several nieces and nephews; and beloved pug, Polly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jim.
Paula loved cooking, especially black magic cake for her grandchildren and decorating for the holidays. She also enjoyed interior decorating. Everyone who knew Paula enjoyed her exceptional sense of humor and her hearty laugh. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
