Wieneke, Rose Marie
Rose Marie Wieneke, 92, of Heritage Nursing and Rehab, died there Sunday, April 17, 2011. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Post 727. A vigil service will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 4 until 8 p.m. Friends may also visit Wednesday at the church after 9 a.m.
Survivors include her sister, Mary (George) Kauffman; brother, Albert (Margaret) Wieneke; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Wieneke, Virginia Wieneke and Bertha Wieneke Mallie; and brothers, Eugene Wieneke, Robert Wieneke, John Wieneke and William Wieneke.
Rose was born June 2, 1918, near Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles P. and Otillie A. (Muller) Wieneke. She was a beauty operator for six years, served three years in the Womens' Army Corps during World War II, and worked for an insurance company for 35 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Holy Family Circle.
Rose would like to thank all the people who were so kind and helpful to her during her lifetime. She tried to help many people and be fair and honest with anyone she came in contact.
