Joellen "Jodie" Ackley Kueber, 57, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 14, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. A celebration of life will be announced by family later.
Survivors include her children, Chad (Amberley) Sundberg and Brooke (Justin) Linn; grandchildren, Anthony, Camryn, Elijah, Alexis, Jayce and Lauren; brother, Jim (Denise) Ackley; sisters, Gail Kester and Cathy (Rick) Henry; and many nieces and nephews.
Jodie was born Sept. 12, 1963, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of James and Jean (Wilson) Ackley. She graduated from Kennedy High School and attended Kirkwood Community College. She moved to Indiana for several years where she worked in nursing at Deaconess Hospital and the Mount Vernon Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Upon returning to Cedar Rapids, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Jodie was an amazing cook and always made sure everyone was fed, often using her mother's recipes.
Jodie will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and sister. Her generosity and youthful spirit will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jean Ackley; sister, Lynn Ackley; and her son, Cory Sundberg.
