Neal, Candace Jane
Candace Jane Neal, 65, formerly of Tucson, Ariz., died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at her son's home after a long illness. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Unity Center of Cedar Rapids by the Rev. Brenda S. Ehret. Friends may visit Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home and Tuesday after 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Candace is survived by two children, Tim (Mary Beth) Neal of Cedar Rapids and Molly (Todd) Clubb of Vinton; six grandchildren, Katie, Daniel, James, Cole, Kyle and Keely; a brother, Jack (Paula) Baker of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Beth Parker of Cedar Rapids; her aunt, Renee (Bob) Stramel; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her faithful companion, Riley.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Candace was born Nov. 3, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Jack and Milda (Culver) Baker. She graduated in 1969 as a Registered Nurse from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
Candace cherished her six grandchildren who were her life. She enjoyed being creative and loved making beautiful crafts and sewing. She devoted her life to nursing and to the care of others and was experienced in many areas of patient care. Candace loved her last job of providing in-home health care with Bayada Nurses in Tucson and thought of the staff as her second family.
Candace's family would like to thank Hospice of Mercy for all of the wonderful care they provided.
