Sara Jo Fry Howard, 77, died May 6, 2021, at AVISTA Senior Living, Sun City West, Ariz. Per Sara's request, there will be no services. Interment of cremated remains: Woodlawn Cemetery, Claremore Okla.
Survivors include spouse, Lloyd G. Howard; daughter, Anne L. Howard (spouse Mike Fisher) of Phoenix Ariz.; son, Stephen B. Howard (spouse Saima llyas) of NYC, N.Y.; brother, W. G. David Fry (spouse Trudy) of Sun City West, Ariz.; as well as several nieces and their families.
Sara was preceded in death by both parents in the year 1995.
Sara was born March 1, 1944, in Great Bend, Kan., the daughter of Maxine (McCormick) and Joseph G. Fry, and was raised in Ellinwood, Kan. She graduated from The University of Kansas in 1966. She married Lloyd G. Howard on June 15, 1968, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Sara taught Latin in the Omaha (NE) Public Schools, the Wichita (KS) Public Schools, and Warrick Co. (IN) Public schools. She later worked in the health insurance industry for over 25 years. Sara enjoyed volunteering at His Hands Free Medical Clinic, SHIIP, Banner Del Web Hospital (AZ) and other non-profit organizations.
