Judith Ann Bunney, 77, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 10, 2021, at the Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, May 28, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service
in Marion. All guests are respectfully requested to
wear a face mask and
practice social distancing.
Judith was born on May
31, 1943, in Columbus Junction, Iowa, the daughter of Verne and Harriet (Panborn) Thomas. She graduated from Wapello High School. On May 4, 1968, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Judith was united in marriage to Donald Bunney. She worked as a secretary until retiring in 1997. Judith made education very important for her children and their children as well. She loved visiting several European countries and China, walking the beaches and gathering sea shells on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico in Port Arkansas, Texas. Judith loved to read books.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Donald Bunney of Marion; two sons, Mark (Karen) Bunney of Atlanta, Ga., and Christopher (Melissa) Bunney of Littleton, Colo.; two grandchildren, Tristyn Bunney of Littleton and Rhiannin Bunney of Fort Collins, Colo.; and two sisters, Janet Aldridge and Hazel Storm, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Glen Thomas and Lyle Thomas; and sister, Verna Baird.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association at 317 7th Ave. SE 402 in Cedar Rapids, IA 52401.
