Andrea Jean Hoffman was born June 3,1943, in Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of Hans and Iola Ambuehl Hoffman. She received her early education in Richland Township and graduated with the class of 1961 from Monticello High School. She continued her education at the Paris Academy in Cedar Rapids. Following her education, she opened her first of many salons and married Tom Streets in 1962 (divorced 1975). During her marriage they adopted their daughter Amy.
Andy practiced cosmetology in Cedar Rapids and operated Andy's at the Roosevelt Hotel for a number of years before moving her salon back home to Monticello in 1983. She was an unbelievably creative soul who was an acting executive member in the Cedar Rapids Hairdressers Association, she belonged to the Cedar Rapids Style Body and Iowa Hair Fashion Committee and taught a Capri College in Cedar Rapids.
In retirement, Andy moved to enjoy one of her greatest loves, the love of water. Living on the Mississippi and having the opportunity to boat and walk the island daily brought her great joy. She also renewed her love of painting and drawing. She belonged to the Palisades Art League, the Clinton Art Association, and the 321 Art Gallery where she exhibited her artwork. One of her greatest muses was her granddaughter Lolo. They shared an unbelievable bond.
Andrea is loved and survived by her daughter, Amy Streets Littleton and granddaughter, Logan "Lolo" Andrea, Littleton, North Carolina; her sister and brother, Sally Reese, Illinois, and Steve Hoffman, Colorado; her companion, Jud Fashimpaur; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Iola Hoffman; sister, Barbara Bjornson; and brothers, Jack and Jerry Hoffman.
Online condolences may be left for the family online and cards may be directed to Goettsch Funeral Home 514 W First St., Monticello, IA 52310.
