Rixe, Harlan H.
Memorial services for Harlan H. Rixe, 72, of Tipton, who died March 23, 2012, at Mercy Iowa City, will be held privately Wednesday, March 28, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. There will be a public visitation at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Harlan was born Aug. 17, 1939, in Bennett, Iowa, the son of Hugo and Edna (Bauer) Rixe. Harlan was a graduate of Tipton High School. He was united in marriage to Priscilla Esbaum on Oct. 1, 1961, in Lowden.
Harlan was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation for 35 years and for AgVantage Farm Service for 10 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge. Harlan also served as a volunteer fireman for 20 years.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Priscilla Rixe of Tipton; daughters, Colette (Chad) Mostaert of Lowden and Penny (Darrin) Wulf of Tipton; grandchildren, Ethan (Samantha Timm) Wulf, Emily Wulf, Hannah Mostaert and Haley Mostaert; and sisters, Marvella Deerberg of Bennett and Vanetta Esbaum of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
