Cedar Rapids road construction projects announced
The city Public Works Department has announced the six major road and bridge projects for the coming construction season.
Their locations and expected completion dates are:
- Council Street NE at Boyson Road NE (paving completed in July, seeding and planting in September)
- Edgewood Road SW from Highway 30 to the Wendling Quarry (this summer)
- The East Post Road bridge (this fall)
- Collins Road NE and First Avenue East from 40th Street to the Marion city limits (fall of 2011; work this year will focus on the reconstruction of the Collins Road NE/First Avenue East intersection)
- 33rd Avenue SW from Remington Street SW to Royal Drive SW (paving of the 33rd Avenue SW corridor to be complete in 2012)
- 16th Avenue SW from Stoney Point Road SW to West Post Road SW (September)
