Police said a man who forced his way into an apartment and displayed a knife demanded medication rather than cash.
Officers were called around 7 p.m. Sunday to an apartment at 510 Seventh Ave. SW, where tenant Michael Knapp Sr., 52, told them he had been robbed.
According to a police report, a masked man knocked on Knapp's door, and when Knapp opened it, the suspect pushed his way inside. Knapp told police the man displayed a small knife and demanded prescription medication. When Knapp told the suspect he didn't have any medication, the suspect took other items and ran out the door.
Electronics and other items valued at $1,740 were reported stolen. Knapp was not hurt.
The suspect was described as a black or Hispanic male, around 6-foot-4 and 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark ski mask.
No arrests have been made. An investigation was continuing.
