Droll, Jayce Walter
Jayce Walter Droll, 17, of Stanwood, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, as a result of an ATV accident. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton, by the Rev. David Hitch and the Rev. Andrew Kelly. Burial: Clarence Cemetery, Clarence, with luncheon to follow at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund for Ag-Business & Mechanics will be established in Jayce's memory.
Jayce was born Jan. 13, 1994, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to James and Kay Wuestenberg Droll. He was a junior at North Cedar High School where he was active in football, wrestling and track, he also was a leader in the Knight Dungeon. Jayce loved hunting, fishing, racing and “Ozzy.” His favorite hobbies were beating on his brothers and irritating his Spanish teacher.
Survivors include his parents, Jim and Kay; older brother, Josh; and younger brother, Jarrod both at home; paternal grandparents, Walter and Eleanor Droll of Tipton; maternal grandparents, Dean and Roxie Mouchka of Wheatland, and Gale Wuestenberg of Wheatland; his faithful Beagle friends, Jax and Daisy; and kitty friends, Abby, George and Lilly; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Wuestenberg.
