Every summer, I receive calls from gardeners excited about their gargantuan tomato plant or gorgeous mandevilla.
I wish I could visit and see those and all of the other unusual plants and beautiful gardens in Eastern Iowa. I can't, but you can share photos of these and more on the Homegrown Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Homegrown/149667388406346
Found a plant you can't identify? Post a picture.
Have a successful method to rid your raspberries of Japanese beetles? Post a comment.
That's right, I want to get you communicating and sharing.
Everyone who posts a comment or photo during the month of July will be entered in a drawing for a gardening book.
Publishers have again sent a few new books my way, which I will pass along to Homegrown Facebook friends.
Because there is more than one Homegrown on Facebook, make sure you're clicking on the Home/Garden page with the pink malva flowers.
Winners will need to pick up the book at The Gazette office in Iowa City or Cedar Rapids.
