Downtown CR has much to offer

I would like to thank the Cedar Rapids Downtown District (now part of the Metro Economic Alliance) for its hard work in downtown Cedar Rapids.

I am hosting a “girls' weekend” this month. My friends are coming from places like Denver and Minneapolis. When I hosted this several years ago, I had trouble finding events or places to share with them that were fun or entertaining. There wasn't much I loved about my city then. However, this year, I was thrilled to look around and find out my city has a lot to offer every weekend. We have a variety of events taking place that could rival what their great cities have to offer.

When my friends visit, we may do anything from watch an outdoor concert downtown to sample a kolach to attend a fashion show in New Bo. If anyone is hoping to show off this creative corridor, the time has come and it only gets better from here.
