Who knew Christian lessons needed?

I want to thank Mark Banowetz, former GOP candidate for the Linn County Board of Supervisors, for opening my eyes to a fresh perspective on 'diversity.” It never had occurred to me that Linn County employees may dwell in fearful darkness about Christian doctrine and need educating. The many area Christian churches obviously have failed to adequately proselytize.
Given the numerical dominance of Christians and combined with the dominance of Caucasians and the realities of Republican Party ideology and demographics, I was amazed at Banowetz's timidity in settling for a sectarian display of a Christian Nativity on county property. Perhaps Banowetz, following the example of southern Republicans, next will propose flying a Confederate battle flag in front of the Linn County Courthouse to celebrate 'White Heritage.”
