IC no longer beacon for underage drinkers

As a resident of Iowa City's north-side neighborhood, I can attest that life is much quieter since the 21-only after 10 p.m. bar ordinance went into place. A lot quieter. There's less vandalism and less noise. Despite all the threats, the ordinance did not cause an uptick in house parties in the neighborhoods. They've gone down in number as well.
Better still, Iowa City is no longer the beacon for underage drinkers. Our downtown is, if anything, more vibrant than before, and is much more family-friendly and safer.
Just like last time, 21 makes sense. Join me in voting no on repeal of the ordinance on Nov. 5.
