Blount, Darlene M.
Darlene M. Blount, 62, of Independence, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 2012, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, with the Rev. Paul McManus officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and parish vigil service held at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
She is survived by a daughter, Roni (Rick) Hilby, Manchester; four grandchildren, Joshua, Hailey, Olivia and Ryan Hilby; four sisters: Mary Ann Kelly, Cedar Rapids; Linda Bagby, Independence; Susan Burington, Cedar Falls; and Sandy Boyd, Tennessee; and eight brothers: Joe Bagby, Independence; Francis Bagby, Independence; Jim Bagby, Cedar Falls; Tom Bagby, Dunkerton; Pat Bagby, Walker; Jerry Bagby, Arizona; Gene Bagby, Independence; and Wayne Bagby, Rowley; and many nieces and nephews.
