Aug. 7, 2013 9:55 am
Des Moines Democrat Sen. Jack Hatch has announced Grant Woodard will be campaign manager of his exploratory campaign for governor.
Woodard, 29, served as the chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Leonard Boswell. Before that, Woodard managed the 2008 and 2010 successful Boswell re-election efforts. Woodard has also worked for Hillary Clinton for President, the Iowa Democratic Party and John Kerry for President.
A native of Stratford, Woodard is a graduate of Webster City High School, Grinnell College and the Drake University School of Law. During college, he served as the national president of College Democrats of America. He has served on the Iowa Democratic Party State Central Committee and the Democratic National Committee.
“I am very excited to hit the ground running, and to be working for someone who has been a tireless progressive fighter and leader in Iowa for decades,” Woodard said.
