130 temp hires planned at Iowa City contract packager

A Iowa City company is seeking to fill 130 temporary assembly positions.

Sedona Staffing is recruiting for the positions this month. They include morning and evening shifts Monday through Thursday, and 12-hour shifts Fridays through Saturdays, according to Scarlett Linn, a Sedona account manager.

Linn said the general assembly positions will begin at $8 per hour. Crew and line lead positions will receive a higher rate.

The positions will be at the Rock-Tenn Co. in southwest Iowa City, which contracts to assemble displays for Procter & Gamble and other companies.

Sedona shares staffing responsibilities with Rock-Tenn's primary staffing provider, Linn said. The additional hiring is a result of seasonal needs.
