Letter: Bicyclists should wear reflective gear

I get it. Sidewalks are for pedestrians. Highways and streets are for everything else (cars, bikes, trikes, motorcycles, tractors and buggies). Even an occasional plane lands on one.
We legislated that slow-moving vehicles - tractors and buggies - display a reflective triangle sign on the rear. Why not require all other slow-moving vehicles display such signage?
I suggest that bicyclists have clothing available with that triangle warning. You can pass all the laws you want, but until you widen every highway to include a bike lane, unfortunate collisions will probably happen with some frequency - particularly with the increase in bicycle and vehicle traffic.
