IOWA CITY -- University of Iowa senior guard Kachine Alexander has been named to the 2010-11 “Wade Watch” list for The Wade Trophy women's basketball Division I Player of the Year.
Alexander is one of 25 players named to the list.
“This is an incredible honor for Kachine,” said Iowa Coach Lisa Bluder. “The Wade Trophy is the top honor in women's college basketball, and Kachine is very deserving to be on this list. She is the most exciting player to watch in the Big Ten and it's great to see the rest of the nation appreciate her talents.”
Alexander was named to both the State Farm Coaches and Associated Press honorable mention All-America teams last season. She was also a first team all-Big Ten and all-Defensive team selection. The Minneapolis native ranked second in the Big Ten and 23

nationally with 10.4 rebounds per game, and was only one of two guards in all of Division I women's basketball to average a double-double (16 points and 10.4 rebounds).
Despite missing seven games with a stress fracture in her right leg, Alexander still recorded 15 double-doubles, which was the third-most for any guard in the country.
Alexander scored double figures in 22 of 27 games played, including eight 20-plus point performances. She had 10 or more rebounds in 17 of 25 games played, including 10 games with 12 or more boards.
