Grassley should share his views of Tea Party
The Gazette Opinion Staff

After seeing the Rand Paul interview with Rachel Maddow and hearing his interview with Robert Siegel on National Public Radio, I wondered how our Republican senator, Chuck Grassley, feels about Mr. Paul's stand.
I think this is a fair question for the senator. Paul is an avowed Tea Party movement supporter and Republican. The Republican Party has heartily embraced the Tea Party. Grassley is one of the leaders in the Republican Party, and I believe we need to know how he feels about the positions of this element of his party.
Does Grassley support or disavow Rand Paul's views on the Civil Rights Act of 1964? This is a very relevant question about a fundamental law of our country.
Also, as a leader of the Republican Party, it is well past time that Grassley makes some statement on the incredibly offensive signs that have been showing up at Tea Party rallies.
