Dr. George H. Utley, 91, of Clarence, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Per George's request, there will be no services.
George was born on July 26, 1929, in Manchester, Iowa, to Miles and Grace (Hockaday) Utley.
George was united in marriage to Kathryn Paul in 1991.
George was a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians, and practiced his 34 years of medicine in Clarence. He was an avid bicyclist and fisherman, and rode in RAGBRAI five times between the ages of 70 and 80.
He is survived by his daughter, Jean (Craig) Nelsen of Hudson, Wis.; son, Bill (Kayla) Utley of Center Point; wife, Kathryn Paul Utley of Clarence; stepsons, Michael Paul, MD, of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, David Utley of Iowa City; grandchildren, Colton Utley, Katie Ward and Libby Ward; stepgrandchildren, Jonathan Paul, Jennifer Eureka, Stephen Paul, Elizabeth Paul, Alex Paul and Zachary Paul; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry; infant grandson, Mitchell; stepson, David; and sister, Eileen Billhorn.
