Mary Kathryn Andres (Bagge) joined the angels in heaven on May 5, 2021. A lifetime Iowan, Mary graduated from St. John Catholic High School in Independence, Iowa, and earned her Masters of Social Work from the University of Iowa.
Being an adoring wife, mother, nana, sister, friend, social worker, avid baker, runner, sewer and devout Catholic, earned her the nickname "Iron Mary" from her loving husband and high school sweetheart of 47 years, Darcy Andres.
She emulated grace, determination, kindness and laughter, especially with her pride and joys, her three children, Nicole, Lindsay and Trenton, their spouses, and her four extraordinary grandchildren. Mary would love for all to celebrate her memory with a freshly frosted cookie, a glass of Black Box Cabernet from Costco and a great bargain from Von Maur.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 1350 Lyndhurst Dr., Hiawatha, Iowa, on Thursday, May 13, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's name to the Catholic Worker House to help support families in need.
