Police look for driver of car that hit Iowa City woman in wheelchair
Iowa City police are looking for the driver who hit a person in a motorized wheelchair, then drove off.
It happened around 7:40 p.m. Sunday at Meadowlark Condos on Lakeside Drive. The victim told police she was alongside her van, preparing to get inside, when another vehicle struck her. She was taken to the hospital with a leg injury.
A witness describes the suspect driver as a heavy-set black female with short hair. She was wearing a purple shirt and reportedly had two children in the car.
The vehicle is described as a red car, possibly with four doors.
