Government opened doors to recession

The Democrats blame Republicans (George W. Bush) for all their misfortunes and everyone knows the Republicans only care about the rich.
Here's what puzzles me: Democrats are typically for big government programs and spending more money than they take in. That is exactly what Bush did and you Democrats hate his guts. What gives?
We should agree on this: It was the government that opened the door to this recession. It passes the laws, some of which are successful. Some, as in the case of the mortgage and banking foreclosures, are dismal failures. The reality is, Bush had plenty of help from Democrats to pull off this massive blunder.
I think there should be a law that government can't claim it is going to create jobs. The government doesn't create anything except laws and more government. It's the rich or inherited money that creates jobs. Job creation results in a product or service that then can be taxed. If it weren't for real job creators and workers paying taxes, there would be no government, especially one claiming to create jobs.
