Tailgating is unsafe and unnecessary

To the editor:
Every day, whether it be on city streets or Interstate 380, I get tailgated. Someone rides my back bumper as if it had super glue on it and they were stuck.
I know I should not, but I will brake check them to tell them to back off. I drive at exactly the speed limit, too, so it's not as if I'm going slow and they want me to get over so they can pass because of that. They're riding my tail and I'm at the speed limit translates to they are speeding.
Back off, slow down, do whatever you have to do, but stay off my bumper, seriously. That's what causes a lot of accidents, such as the recent one on Interstate 80 that injured over 30 people. That accident started when one vehicle rear-ended another.
You don't need to tailgate anyone. If you are in that much of a hurry, leave earlier. It's not our fault that you don't want to obey the law and it's not our fault that you are running late. There is absolutely no reason to ride someone else's tail and even if they are going super slow (which also causes accidents) that does not excuse it.
If I remember right, you can get more added on to a ticket for doing it too. For the love of God, back off.
