UI lecture will discuss Turkey and the Middle East

IOWA CITY - A lecture featuring a journalist from the Turkish Review will be held at the University of Iowa.

Kerim Balci, chief executive editor of Turkish Review, will discuss “Turkey and the Restructuring of the Middle Eastern Regimes” during the 4 p.m. lecture April 19 in the Illinois Room of the Iowa Memorial Union.

The event is free and open to the public.

Balci is a Turkish writer, journalist and academic recently named editor in chief of Turkish Review, a bimonthly journal published by Zaman Media Group of Turkey. Balci is a frequent columnist in Today's Zaman and Zaman dailies, both the largest circulating newspapers in their boulevards, and is a correspondent to several local and international television channels on issues related to the Middle East.

His visit is sponsored by the UI Intellectual Dialogue Society, a student organization.
