Cook committed to excellent education

Let's re-elect Karla Cook to the Iowa City school board. There is no more levelheaded, thoughtful, conscientious person around. She knows schools having taught at Northwest, Regina, City High and others.

As Cook's colleague, I have observed her deep commitment to excellent education. Her communication skills, sense of humor, and ability to investigate complex issues have been well honed by a wide variety of students and school situations through the years. She is responsive to and concerned about all kinds of students and issues that come before the board.

We have high expectations and hopes for our youth - that each one might discover and develop his/her talents, strengths, and interests in productive ways that enhance our community, o state, and world. Cook will serve that tradition with exceptional insight and expertise.
