Tenborg, Donna Lee
Donna Lee Tenborg, 83, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Private family memorial services will be at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, Solon. Brosh Chapel in Solon is in charge of arrangements.
Donna was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Graettinger, the daughter of M.F. “Ted” and Gladys V. (Breffle) Gilbaugh. She married Roy E. Tenborg on April 14, 1942, in Fairmont, Minn. Donna worked at Rexall Drug and then as a chair side dental assistant for Dr. C.A. Shiley in Graettinger. Donna moved with her family to North Liberty in the fall of 1963, and then settled in the Solon area in 1967. Donna worked at NCS/Pearson and retired after 25 years in the accounting department. Donna enjoyed her yard and flowers. She liked playing cards with friends and enjoyed doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Among the things she enjoyed were times spent with her sister-in-law, Milli. She enjoyed watching television, playing with “Captain the Dog,” and spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters, Kari and Kasi.
Donna is survived by her son, Gary Lee Tenborg of Tumwater, Wash.; daughters, Gayle M. Tenborg of Tulsa, Okla., and Anne E. (William) Taylor of Albert Lea, Minn.; grandchildren, Kari Jean Tenborg of Solon, and Kasi Ann Tenborg of North Liberty; a brother, Dale Gilbaugh of Earlham; a daughter-in-law, Pat (Owen) Rehnblom of North Liberty; and a sister-in-law, Milli Gilbaugh of Iowa City; as well as nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Roy; a son, Mark Tenborg; a brother, Paul B. Gilbaugh; and her parents.
Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
