As a business owner or manager, how can you prepare in the event of an unexpected interruption in business due to a fire or power outage, or worse?
A workshop, Preparing for the Unexpected, will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on two dates -- April 24 and May 3 -- in the boardroom at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, 424 First Ave. NE, to help explain many of the issues business owners can face when a disaster occurs.
Recovery in the region is in full swing, but local business recovery specialists want to make sure business owners and managers can continue to learn how to prepare for any unexpected event that can disrupt or damage your business.
Workshop presenters will include Scott Swenson, who served as the senior case manager of the Business Long-term Recovery Initiative and Jami Haberl of Safeguard Iowa Partnership. Topics that will be covered include the value of disaster preparedness, business continuity planning, flood insurance coverage, resources, and tip and tools.
The workshop is free and open to the public, but attendees are encouraged to register online. Lunch will be provided by event sponsor Tektivity.
