Roob, Peter A.
Peter A. Roob, 75, of 3813 Foxborough Terr. NE, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a short battle with lung cancer. A Gathering for the Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Jan. 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hospice House. Private inurnment will be held at Iowa Veterans Cemetery. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; children, Peter (Kathy) of Anamosa, Kevin (Kathy) of Coggon, Michelle Thomas of Cedar Rapids, David of Bufford, Ga., Denise (Robert) Wensel of Orlando, Fla., and Thomas of Cedar Rapids; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; grandson, Eli; one brother and one sister.
Peter was born June 20, 1935, in Rosholt, S.D., the son of Ambrose and Briggeta (Weiser) Roob. He married Elizabeth Meade on June 4, 1957, in Dublin, Ireland. He worked at Rockwell Collins as an engineer for many years.
