Iowa State adds a second Friday night ESPN game to its 2011 football schedule
Mike Hlas Apr. 26, 2011 2:14 pm
Not only is Iowa State venturing into ESPN twice for the first time in a football season, it will do so both times in prime-time.
The Cyclones were already booked to play at Connecticut on Friday night, Sept. 16. Now, their scheduled game at home against Oklahoma State has been switched from Nov. 19 to Friday night, Nov. 18.
“Earning a second national TV contest on ESPN is important for the growth of our program,” Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard said. “This is also another opportunity for our recruits and alums to see the Cyclones play on national television.
“In this particular case, there is no conflict with the regular season for high school football in our state.” Pollard said.
