Shelter directors should be open about changes

To the Cedar Valley Humane Society board of directors: Some of you have not dealt with the day-to-day operations of the shelter. The employees who were on the front lines every day and were fired by you were compassionate, knowledgeable and professional, and cared greatly for the animals under their care.
When people volunteer with the shelter, they do so because they believe in the organization's missions and goals. They volunteer because they see people they are working with are also compassionate and caring individuals. Donors donate because they believe they are helping a caring and compassionate organization. Volunteers and donors do what they do because they see, hear and believe that the organization is doing everything it can to help animals find their forever homes.
The volunteers, donors and employees had questions and were denied answers because you canceled a board meeting. If the policy changes are for the better, please let us know what they are so we can all do our part.
As individuals who are working toward the same goal, we should be able to work together to achieve that outcome: “Until they all find a home.”
