Lucas Edward Dennis, 33, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Swisher, passed away on Nov. 28, 2020. As per the family's wishes, private family inurnment will be in Anderson Cemetery, near Swisher. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering on Sunday, May 16, 2021, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.
Lucas was born Aug. 30, 1987, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Terry and Diann (Reiter) Dennis. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, Class of 2006. Lucas was united in marriage to Brittney Anderson on Jan. 11, 2014.
Lucas is survived by his parents, Terry and Diann of Swisher; his brother, Ryan (Caitlin) Dennis; nephew, Parker Dennis; of Okauchee, Wis.; his maternal grandmother, Jean Reiter of Cascade; as well as his numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert Dean and Catherine (Truesdell) Dennis; and maternal grandfather, Edward John Reiter.
