Theresa (Dan) Davies, Steven Kindl and Rita (Scott) Diesing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa "Bernie" Rochford Kindl; father, George Kindl; and sister, Rosemary Kindl Welbourne.
Clifford began his religious life at St. Ludmila's Catholic Church and was an Acolyte for several years. He also attended school there. He graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in 1967. Clifford was employed at Universal Engineering as an assembler, Duffy's Classic Cars working on mechanical performance and maintenance, and several tree services companies as a logger while supervising crews. In 2009 he obtained his HVAC license from Lindsey-Cooper Refrigeration School, Inc. in Irving, Texas. He most recently oversaw all maintenance duties at LP Street Food, Bricks Pub, and MoCo Game Room & Hot Dog Bar, all in Cedar Rapids.
When Clifford was not working you could find him camping, canoeing, and fishing on the Volga, Turkey and Mississippi rivers with his sons, siblings and friends. He knew these rivers like the back of his hand. He had a wide variety of interests: he was an expert morel mushroom hunter, he worked extensively on wood working projects and built furniture, collected chalk pastel artwork and was a prolific reader.
Clifford loved the outdoors and especially trees and forests and was distraught by the Derecho storm destruction that hit Cedar Rapids in August 2020. Donations can be made to planting a tree in his memory at www.treesforever.org/plantinghope or to St. Ludmila's Catholic Church, 211 21st Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 for Mass intentions.
